Two Year Anniversary!
Hello Mischief Maker,
It’s been two years since we started Wolf & Magpie Media! We sadly haven’t been as productive this year for a few reasons.
Burnout. We may have overdid it a little last year. We were eager to pump out content, but when it came to starting Season Two, the motivation just wasn’t there. Jenna handles a lot of the work for Wolf & Magpie, while also working a full-time job and voice acting, so they suffered from a lot of burnout this year.
Finances. Making audio dramas is expensive. We want to make sure people get compensation for their time and the work that they provide. The hope was to earn enough to keep funding these projects, but to date, we have made $25 CDN from one person donating to our Ko-Fi. While we aren’t in this to make money, we also need to make sure we aren’t going into debt. Each audio costs us around $2000-$6000 USD to produce (voice actors, character art, background art, original music, logos, hosting fees, etc.) and all of this comes out of Jenna and Kerrie’s own pockets. So we sadly had to cut back on how many projects we could do.
Personal life stuff. A lot happened this year for a lot of our team members so priorities were rightfully elsewhere.
Other writing work. Our two main writers, Jenna and Kerrie, were actually hired to work on other projects for different studios so that took up a lot of their free time (and creative energies)
We hope to keep creating because we honestly love what we do, so we hope you’ll continue to support our stuff throughout the rest of 2024 and beyond!
The Wolf & Magpie team has many stories we still want to tell, and we hope 2025 will be more productive!
Thank you all for sticking with us!
All the best,
-Wolf & Magpie
